Same here! I did notice my local store does sell a package of Bazooka gum. I didn't check the price, but something tells me it costs more than the nickel apiece they charged for the stuff when I was a kid.

Ask your sister if she ever chewed Five Islands Spruce Gum. I harvested my own off the trees on our farm when I was younger.
As always your writing doesn’t disappoint. My children lived in the golden age of sugar as did you. They loved bubblicious. Don’t know the flavor but I should as I bought plenty for three little girls who had the dental bills to prove it from sugar everything during that time. I’m happy we’re into a healthier lifestyle now. I’ve just had to quit my candy bar ice cream diet I started this summer. Per my family Dr. numbers not good from last labs. So. Ok. No more fun stuff. No more sweet tea either. Thankful I take my Dunkin with cream only.
Oh, I hear you trying to eat healthy isn't always fun. I've switched from soda to seltzer, and had to ditch caffeine because it wasn't agreeing with me. My dental issues mean I avoid any chewy sort of candy. Eventually I might be living on a diet of saltines and water, ha ha!
I was recently reminded by my sister (who is 10 years older than me by the way ) that “vintage” is now referencing 80’s to 90’s memorabilia. Hmmmm….. I guess her time of era of 70’s to 80’s was skipped lol
Well, as someone who used to sell "vintage" stuff on Etsy. The official definition of "vintage" is anything 20 years old or older. That means that stuff from the early 2000s is now technically vintage, and I have to admit I can't wrap my head around this!
Well that’s good to know about vintage. I had no idea that vintage was at least 20 years or older. So I don’t feel so bad anymore but yes it’s hard to fathom that early 2000’s is vintage. Eek!!!
"Pamplemousse LaCroix" is THE worst stuff in the world - especially if it's warm. In my opinion, MOST flavored seltzer waters are awful... As a non-foody in pretty much any aspect of the word "food," I am THE pickiest person in the world... I "eat to live" and not the other way 'round. Meat, bread, potatoes, and coffee are my staples.
I have to admit Pamplemousse is my favorite seltzer. For me, I ended up drinking seltzer because I decided to give up soda, which I thought I was drinking too much of. I live with a very picky eater, so I hear you! Then again, not eating meat makes me a picky eater in a lot of people's books!
Our walking group was just talking about this today! Apparently a lot of what we eat here in the USA is not available in many foreign countries because of the ingredients involved! Some countries that do carry some of the products have reduced sugar/salt and less chemicals. Also the choice of sparkling water is crazy! Food for thought 😉😘
Yeah I recently saw a map of the US that broke down estimated sugar consumption, and while NJ was one of the better states, all of the states consumed way more than the recommended amount of sugar.

I’ve been on water and saltines with pancreatitis. No fun. Ugh. Lots of white rice too. Stay healthy young lady.
