My sister-in-law was on Jeopardy! It was fun to watch her on TV. I think she came in second.
They've really been plugging "take the test" lately, so I think they are eager for new contestants.
My husband and I agree we are probably a little past our prime to be contestants, as we are clueless about most of the pop culture categories--we have no idea who most of the current singers and actors are. Also, I think the buzzer would be my undoing.
Yeah, pop culture is an especially week category for me. I would have to get lucky with a category like 1990s Rock Music or something or I would bomb for sure. Oh, and I definitely don't have the reflexes for that buzzer, despite my training. Ha ha! That's cool that your sister-in-law was on!
Enjoyed your foray into the Jeopardy scene. A friend who lives in Columbus was on the show, she’s an attorney -not practicing - and I believe she came away with a few thousand dollars. I thought she did well. Just making the cut is difficult. Love your slice of life essays. Thx.
We were just reminiscing about this the other day. You are definitely smart enough for Jeopardy! You and Dad would make a great team ( with a little help from Ron with the buzzer) .😘
Never made a run at Jeopardy, but was a finalist one year on a Maine Public Broadcasting show called "So You Think You Know Maine." Maine humorist, Tim Sample was the host and the final show was filmed in Portland's Deering Oaks Park. It was great fun.
I was invited to try out in the early 2000s in Phoenix. My experience was similar to yours. It's a good memory and a fun fact about myself to share in icebreakers :)

That's awesome! As far as I know, I don't know anyone who has been on the show.

As a team we'd be unstoppable! Ha ha!

It definitely is!
