The past week and then some have been a little hectic here at the Gross/Grosso house. It began with a furnace issue, which took roughly a day to resolve. A few days after that we started having some weird power surge issues. With the power issues coming so close on the heels of the furnace issues, there were concerns they might be related, but also it had snowed overnight. Perhaps a tree had fallen on some power lines down the road, and once that was fixed things would be back to normal.
The power issues, though, persisted throughout the day, and eventually we realized that the power line problems were closer to home, specifically at the wires coming off the pole into our house.
So, we spent our Valentine’s Day waiting around for the power company to show up. Some tree branches were partly to blame, and some threats were made to remove a beloved (and gigantic) rhododendron bush, but in the end just some light pruning was enough to allow the necessary repairs to be made.
Mechanical issues, snowstorms—after that first one we got a second with a surprise 10 inches more than the 1 to 3 inches of snow they had forecast—and some doctor appointments, made for a hectic week around here, and I’m hoping that the past few days of relative calm mean the hecticness has calmed down. I hope.
Of course, it’s all relative. Earlier this week, my mom called to let me know she and Dad had returned safely from a 15-day vacation that included stops in South America and a cruise to Antarctica. That’s sounds fun if exhausting, but proof that my parents are made of different stuff than I am, before the week’s end they embark on another cruise! I thought my life was hectic!
Well, whether you like things calm and relaxed or hectic and exciting, I hope you are having a week just the way you like it!
