As I write this, it’s a bit gray and gloomy looking outside. My phone tells me it’s just 47 degrees and yesterday there was enough of a chill in the air for a few snow flurries to fall. So, spring got off to a chilly start.
But around these parts we have been lucky to have some very pleasant weather in the past week or so, and there are lots of signs of spring around. The daffodils in the yard are blooming and other green shoots are starting to emerge from the ground. Most of the trees have buds on them, and there’s even a tree a little way down the road that’s already flowering. So, I guess that groundhog was right about spring coming early.
I haven’t seen any groundhogs around here, but as I write this I can see some robins enjoying their lunch in the backyard. The deer stroll through in the evenings to munch on the grass that’s getting greener by the day. Like the animals we emerge from our winter burrow to spend a little more time outside in the sun and plan out future improvement projects.
I wish you a spring that’s full of promise and possibilities!
